Sean Brewer Named Assistant Superintendent

Madison County Schools is pleased to announce that Sean Brewer will return to the district as Assistant Superintendent beginning May 1, 2026.

Brewer brings 31 years of experience in education — including 25 years in administration — and a proven record of leadership and student success. He previously served 15 years in the district as Assistant Principal at Ridgeland High School and as Lead Principal at Rosa Scott School and Madison Central High School. The dedicated teachers, staff, and students at each of these campuses built programs that consistently earned the state’s highest accountability ratings and achieved national recognition for academic excellence, including sustained National Merit distinction and exceptional ACT performance ranking among Mississippi’s best.

Most recently, Brewer served four years as Director of Education Solutions for Canopy Children’s Solutions, where an outstanding team of educators and support staff partnered with more than 40 Mississippi school districts across four fully accredited special-purpose schools. In that role, he helped develop innovative programming, manage complex operations, and advocate at the state level for children’s mental health and education policy.

"I'm excited to have Sean back with Madison County Schools," said Austin Brown, Deputy Superintendent. "His reputation as a leader in MCS at several school across multiple zones has already been established, and I look forward to the contributions he will make as part of the team."

A former Mississippi Assistant Principal of the Year and a 2015 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame, Brewer holds a Master of Educational Leadership from Mississippi College. He is a member of First Baptist Church Madison, married to Dr. Kim Brewer, and the father of three.
